Jonathan Arcangel, Jazz Artist

Jonathan Arcangel is a saxophonist, composer, and educator from the Hudson Valley. Arcangel is settling in NYC after being an active musician in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for several years.

Arcangel was a 2026 Outstanding Soloist DownBeat Award winner. In 2025, he won the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition. During his time at the University of North Texas, Arcangel played in the Grammy-nominated One O'Clock Lab Band for three years. Previous accolades include 1st-place winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance High School Jazz Competition (2022), lead tenor saxophone of the NAfME All-National Honor Jazz Ensemble (2022), and finalist in the UMass Amherst High School Jazz Saxophone Competition (2020), in addition to various all-state and national ensembles. Arcangel is a featured artist for 10MFAN Mouthpieces.

An avid composer and arranger, Jonathan Arcangel strives to create authentic and thought-provoking music that has a deep emotional and spiritual impact on the listener.
